Day 2 of National Combine Series

Day 2 also had great weather. The wind picked up partway through the competition, but did not cause any significant change to the results.

The FG and Punting competition took place in the morning, then after lunch, the top performers who advanced (up to 16) competed head-to-head in a tournament style format, similar to the NCAA basketball tournament.

Each competitor got 2 kicks, and the better performer advanced to the next round (based upon hang time and distance for KOs and punts, % made for FGs). For FGs, if there was a tie, then the distance was moved back until someone made, and someone missed.

Overall, the event was very successful. Lots of great talent on the field, and lots of opportunity for pressure situations.

Check the Combine Series website in the next couple of days for results, and to see who gets scholarship offers.

I really have learned how to improve my kicking form. I like being able to see the video and chat with a professional player. There is so much to learn, and your site helps me get practical information from a pro. Even my kicking coach, Marc Primanti, the Lou Groza Award winner in 1996, thinks it has great information and was really impressed with the content. Thanks for making this a useful site for everyone
