No decision on UT's starting kicker  - 12/27/2009

As it is now, Tennessee junior punter Britton Colquitt, second in the SEC and seventh nationally last year with a 44.9-yard average, will also handle all placekicking and kickoff duties left available by the graduated James Wilhoit. That may change, though. It's a rarity in the SEC to see one kicker handle everything because if he gets hurt, it affects two areas. To that end, freshman redshirt placekicker Daniel Lincoln of Ocala, Fla. (yes, he's a Gator traitor) closed the gap on Colquitt in the spring, ending it by hitting 8-of-10 kicks during the field-goal portion of the Orange and White game. Lincoln pulled a quad muscle early last fall and never got untracked. "Britton is still the better kicker in every way, but Daniel has shown he's more SEC-ready than he was before," Vols' coach Philip Fulmer said. Lincoln understands there's no margin for error as a Vols' placekicker. "You've got to be perfect," Lincoln said....
