Personal comments from Skyler--

My goal is to play collegiate football at an institution with high academic standards and course offerings leading to a degree in Math, Engineering, or Business. Currently, my academic plan in high school includes numerous advanced courses and course offerings leading to college credits. By the time I finish my high school career, I will have earned more than a year's worth of college credits.

In 2015, I created a fundraiser called Warrior Bomb Squad – “Helping kids kick illness.” This fundraiser helps support children and families at Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. As part of the fundraiser, I ask contributors to donate an amount of money for every point I score during the football season. Points are accumulated for every extra point and field goal I successfully complete. The total number of points scored is then used to generate funds to help children at the hospital. As a result of this fundraiser, I raised $2,620 and was awarded the "Star Donor" and "Shining Star Donor" awards. A media interview discussing the fundraiser can be found at https://youtu.be/b8KbdR7oSwo.

Throughout my athletic career, I participated in multiple sports, which include football, soccer, and basketball. In each of these sports, my performance has resulted in participation at the highest levels. In club soccer, my teams have always finished in the top three at State Cup every year (1- championship, 1 - runner-up, and 2 - third place finishes). In basketball, my teams have won championships throughout the Midwest. Lastly, our high school football team made it all the way to the semifinals of State in 2014 and the second round of the playoffs in 2015.

My goal in life is to be the best at everything I do. Whether it is in the classroom or on the field, I will compete! Information about my performance in high school football can be found at http://www.skylercrewplacekicking.com/#
